The Program in C to print 1-X2 /Y + X4/Y3 -…..N is given below:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <math.h>
int main() {
int n;
double x, y, sum = 0;
printf("Enter the value of x: ");
scanf("%lf", &x);
printf("Enter the value of y: ");
scanf("%lf", &y);
printf("Enter the value of n: ");
scanf("%d", &n);
for (int i = 0; i <= n; i += 2) {
sum += pow(-1, i/2) * pow(x, i) / pow(y, i + 1);
}
printf("The sum of the series is: %lf", sum);
return 0;
}
Output:
Enter the value of x: 3
Enter the value of y: 5
Enter the value of n: 7
The sum of the series is: 0.144589
Pro-Tips💡
This program prompts the user to enter the value of x, y and n and then calculates the sum of the series using a for loop.
The for loop iterates from 0 to n by 2 increments and for each iteration, the program raises x to the power of i and y to the power of (i+1) ,
then it multiply the result of (x^i/y^(i+1)) by (-1)^(i/2) and adds it to the sum and prints the final result.
The program uses the pow
function from the math.h
library to raise numbers to a power.
